U4GM PoE 2 Witch Hunter Tips for Deadly Weapon Swaps and Wards

If you're jumping into the Mercenary's Witch Hunter in Path of Exile 2, you'll feel the difference fast. It's not a "hold down one button" Ascendancy. It wants timing, clean target picks, and a bit of nerve. If you're also thinking about gearing and trading while you level, it helps to keep an eye on PoE 2 Currency so you can actually try the setups you're planning instead of waiting on lucky drops.

Weapon Sets Change How You Build

The big hook is Weapon Master, because it turns a big slice of your regular passives into Weapon Set Skill Points. In practice, that means two real loadouts, not a gimmick. Most people end up running one set for fast clearing and another for bossing, and it doesn't feel clunky once you get used to swapping. The recent boost to how many points convert makes it even more tempting. You're not stuck forcing one skill to do everything, and that's a huge quality-of-life win during the campaign and into maps.

Execution Tools That Actually Matter

On the damage side, Witch Hunter leans hard into finishing. Pitiless Killer giving you Culling Strike sounds simple, but it changes pacing. Packs stop lingering at slivers of life, and rares don't hang around ruining your rhythm. Then you've got Judge, Jury, Executioner and the follow-up with Decimating Strike, which is the kind of effect you notice immediately on chunkier targets. You open a fight, you take a bite out of their life pool, and then your regular damage gets to do its job. It's a very "hit first, hit clean" style, and it suits the Mercenary fantasy perfectly.

Witchbane And The Concentration Loop

Witchbane is where the subclass gets clever. You're not just trying to delete health bars; you're draining Concentration every time you connect. As that pool drops, enemies feel less sharp. Their cooldown recovery slows, their pressure eases up, and suddenly the fight is on your terms. No Mercy slots right into that loop by rewarding you for attacking those distracted targets. So you push the debuff, you keep landing hits, and you're basically dismantling what makes dangerous monsters dangerous in the first place.

Staying Alive Without Killing Your Tempo

Defensively, Obsessive Rituals and Sorcery Ward do a lot of heavy lifting, especially when elemental damage starts spiking. The ward buys you room to breathe, then comes back when you disengage for a moment. If you pick up Ceremonial Ablution, it gets even more flexible by helping against physical and chaos too, which is often where "squishy" builds get punished. And when you add Zealous Inquisition, the explosions on kill—especially into Undead and Demons—turn messy packs into a clean chain reaction. If you want to smooth out progression with reliable delivery and a broad catalogue for upgrades, plenty of players use U4GM to grab currency or items and keep their Witch Hunter pace steady.
