U4GM Why Abyss and Ritual Kickstart POE 2 Currency Fast
That first step into early maps can feel like a prank. Your build works, sure, but your stash tab looks empty and every upgrade seems to cost more than you've ever owned. If you're trying to force red maps right away, you'll just bleed resources and get tilted. A better move is to treat the Atlas like your paycheck and build up PoE 2 Currency by playing what your character can actually handle, not what you wish it could.
Start with the Nexus and don't waste Cleansed Maps
In the early tiers, your best "free investment" is the Nexus. Run those corrupted pockets, clear them cleanly, and you'll start stacking Cleansed Maps. The mistake a lot of people make is popping every Cleansed Map the moment it drops. Hold them for layouts you like and for sessions where you're focused, because sloppy deaths eat the profit. After a Nexus clear, check for the Mirrored Fury modifier. It won't show up every time, and yeah, it's RNG, but when it does you're basically printing money: those mini-bosses reliably spit out Fracturing Orbs. For a broke character, guaranteed drops beat dream drops every day.
Anomaly Maps are your early "big swing"
If you see Anomaly Maps, don't ignore them just because you're not geared. These are some of the cleanest early boss runs in the game, and they can be done way earlier than most people think. Fights like Temporal Sandstorm or Eye of the Storm are where you're hunting Lineage Support Gems. That's the point. Their drop chance doesn't care if your gear has trash rarity, so you're not punished for being poor. You just need enough damage to finish the fight and enough discipline not to roll the map into something your build hates.
Daily farming loop: Abyss first, then Ritual or Omens
For your regular mapping, keep it simple: put an Abyss tablet on basically everything. It's steady crafting mats, steady sellable bits, and it doesn't ask for a fancy setup. Once you've pieced together around 100–150% item rarity, you can start leaning into Omen of Light farming and feel the jump. If you're still sitting on low rarity but you clear fast, switch to Ritual instead. It's a solid bridge because you can reroll the tribute window and target Omens directly, rather than hoping the ground drops what you need. Also, don't blow your best Anomaly or Mirrored Fury maps the moment you get them; save those spikes for when you can pair them with a Visions of Paradise tablet.
Keeping it consistent without burning out
The real trick is boring in a good way: do the profitable stuff you can repeat, and only "gamble" when the odds are stacked for you. You'll feel the snowball around mid-tier maps, because you're no longer selling scraps—you're selling outcomes. And if you're short on time or you just want to smooth out the gearing phase, a lot of players top up by buying currency or key items from U4GM while they keep farming the Atlas at their own pace.
